thanksgiving week

Another great week here in Jacksonville North Carolina! Me and Elder Warden grinded it out this week.

Thanksgiving was awesome! We worked at the soup kitchen all morning and served Thanksgiving dinner to all the homeless people. Then we got to go the Laniers for dinner. It was a bunch of older retired military personnel and the whole dinner they were roasting liberals and getting after each other, it was pretty funny.

The Robertson's took us out to Mike's Farm to get ice cream the other day. That place is huge! It was pretty sweet

Brother Sam came in clutch this week as always and drove us around everywhere. We were able to find 7 new people to teach! What a blessing

We didn't have anyone out to church this week....thankfully! That was the WORST fast and testimony meeting that I have ever been to. People were just preaching blasphemy. One guy got up there and said that he was a master Mason just like Joseph Smith and that it was his duty to protect the secrets of the Book of Mormon. He then said that anyone who reads from the Book of Mormon would be excommunicated from the church. That's pretty much how the entire meeting went. Scary

Other than that the week has been great I got to hold a pretty dope chicken named muffin on some guys farm in the middle of nowhere, so that's always a good time.

Selina Hernandez was set to be baptized on the 14th but.... it sounds like she's moving to New York this week so that sucks! But sometimes that's just how it goes.

This week I've been reading in Ether. The Jaredites are journeying across the great deep to the promised land. There are times when the waves and the storm brings their boats under the water. But, as long as they remember to pray the Lord brings them back to the surface and continues to push them towards the promised land.

We too are on a journey across the great deep. Sometimes the storms of life can seem overbearing and it may seem like we will surely drown. But the Lord is always there to lift us back to the surface and to help us continue on our journey to the promised land, if we call on his name.

Life can be hard, we all face challenges. We don't have to do it alone, but, we do have to remember the Lord and reach out to him for help.

I love you all!
