Week 5 in Durham

I can't believe it's already p-day again, time flies out here! If I could only use one word to describe this week it would be, wet. We got a lot of rain and wind this week and its bike week. It's like a war zone out here on a bike. But it actually made for a good time. We were biking through rivers to make it to our lessons.

Overall it has been a great week! We had the opportunity to teach a lot of lessons. Some of our top people we are teaching are going through some struggles and we have been having a hard time getting in contact with them. It kind of sucks but all we can do is invite them and then pray for them and hope that they let the Spirit testify to them. But on a brighter note me and Elder Cook have had a goal to talk to everyone everywhere. We were on our bikes all week and we really put focus into stopping and talking to everyone even if they were on the phone or distracted. We met a lot of good people because of that this week.

When I was on exchange with Elder Conry this week we were walking down the street and I said hi to a guy and he tried to fight us. It was honestly pretty funny especially because Elder Conry used to be a cop. We just kept walking and he was following us, but we just hopped in the car and left. You never know what your going to get with people down here.
I bought a 30 pack of eggs my first week here and I only ate about 5 and they were about to expire on Wednesday. I didn't want to waste them so I cooked them all and ate all 25 for lunch. My advice to everyone is don't eat that many eggs in one sitting.

I've been studying Christlike attributes one of them being Humility. I was told that humility is the gateway attribute to all other Christlike attributes. There are so many good scriptures on humility a few of my favorites are Mosiah 4:11 and Ether 12:27. Some of the things that are promised in Mosiah 4:11 are that if we stay humble and ALWAYS remember that God has all power, we can ALWAYS have joy, ALWAYS have a remission of our sins, and ALWAYS grow in knowledge. I love how the word Always is used, and just how important it is to always stay humble and to put your trust in the Lord. In return he promises so much. Ether 12:27 talks about how when we humble ourselves before the Lord our weaknesses will become our strengths. I have gained a testimony of that and I have seen that this work is impossible without the Lord's hand. When we put our trust in the Lord with a humble heart he truly does give us the strength to teach and testify with the power of the Holy Ghost, and that is when you see the Lord's hand in this work and the results that you want to see.
I can say that being a missionary is so much fun and there is nothing that I would rather be doing right now. Dont have much else to say about this week, but I love you guys!!

Elder Forrest

The pollen is out of control. It's so thick everywhere.

He is soaking wet all the time. He said he tried to wear his rain jacket but it's too hot with it on
and a poncho doesn't do any good either.
