Transfer 2 complete

It's been another great week here in Durham! Last Monday we had a cookout with the ward for memorial day which was a lot of fun. Brother Rangnow busted out his electric guitar and started going crazy, it was pretty cool.

For District council Me and Elder Cook wore the biggest fattest ties we could find. We didn't get a picture but it was pretty sweet. After District council Elder Albrecht came back to D2 with me for an exchange. We spread some mulch in a members yard and then we had some time to go knocking. We knocked into a nice lady Named Ella and we talked with her for a while. She wanted to know more and was willing to have us come back and give her a Book of Mormon. So me and Elder Cook went back the other day and had a great lesson with her.

Brother Borynski gave us a bike rack so we could put it on members cars and have them drop us off on the outskirts of our areas.  Our area is huge, it goes pretty far North and missionaries have never gone up there and talked to anyone, which seems kind of dumb because there could be people up there ready to receive the Gospel. So I think we're going to give it a shot one of these days.

We got news last night that Elder Cook is being transferred tomorrow. I'm staying here in Durham so I'm pretty stoked about that, I won't find out who my new companion is until tomorrow. I'm pretty sad Elder Cook is leaving I'm going to miss him, we've had some dang good times, but I'm also excited to get a new companion.

We had a great lesson with Terry this week he really has been progressing. He told us how much he has seen the Gospel change his life and he wants to be baptized he just has to start living the word of wisdom. He's getting pretty comfortable with the members and we've been having a lot of fun playing cards with him.

We also had a great lesson with a guy named Jeremy he's super open. We taught him the restoration and we are going back there on Wednesday. Other than that it's been pretty hard to get up with the people we've been teaching this week, but sometimes that's just how it goes. We have a few people we ran into yesterday that we will probably start teaching next weekend so that's pretty cool.

For service this week we finished the drainage system that we have been building with Tim Smith for the last 3 months, so that is pretty cool. We also helped the Harts load up their moving truck.

I think one of the things that had the biggest impact on me this week was something that Brother Borynski said. We went to visit a less active family with him who haven't been to church in a long long time because someone offended them. Brother Borynski gave a lesson on forgiveness, and he told them that nobody can make you be offended. You have a choice to be angry, nobody can make you angry. It really touched me because I remember Dad saying that same thing to me a few times. It really made me think how grateful I am for my Parents. Mosiah 4: 15 says....

15 But ye will teach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another.

Parents are responsible for teaching their kids to keep the commandments and follow Jesus Christ. That can be hard in the world today, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ gives the stability that a family needs to survive in a world of sin and temptation.

I just want to say I'm so grateful for my mom and dad. I love you guys, thank you for your faith and for always guiding me with love back onto the straight and narrow path. I hope you guys have a great week and remember to love one another.
