Another great week out here in Durham! Nothing crazy happened this week it was a pretty typical week.
We went on double exchanges back to back so I wasn't with Elder Steffensen for 3 days. Went with Elder Rindlasbacher and Elder Conry the next day. 2 funny guys we had some good times.
When I was with Elder Rindlasbacher we went out to a farm and did service for 4 hours which was a lot of fun. We also did a family history survey with people on a walking trail which was really fun. People get pretty excited talking about their families.
When I was on exchange with Elder Conry he got sick and was laying in Bed so not much happened when I was with him.
We had a good lesson with Terry this week. He is praying for a date that he thinks would be good to work towards for baptism. He came to church again this week and really enjoyed himself.
We taught a lady named Sharon at the hospital and her daughter was their as well. They are super cool and pretty open to learning. I just hope she can get out of the hospital soon, her daughter isn't really helping her though. She brought her a huge thing of fried chicken when we were there and in order to leave the hospital she has to lose weight so it seems pretty counterproductive. But hey that's none of my business
We taught quite a few lessons this week and made some great progress with some of the people were teaching, so things are looking good here in Durham!
I've been thinking a lot this week about how the Lord guides us in our lives. It made me think of Lehi and his family when they were in the wilderness, the Lord gave them the Liahona to guide them where they should go. In
1Nephi 16:28 it says...
28 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the pointers which were in the ball, that they did work according to the faith and diligence and heed which we did give unto them.
The Liahona worked according to the faith and diligence and heed that they gave unto it. We too have been blessed with a Liahona in our lives, the Holy Ghost. It also works according to our faithfulness, diligence, and the heed that we give unto it. As we read from the scriptures, pray, and go to church we our showing our faithfulness and diligence and in turn we will be able to better understand the promptings of the Holy Ghost. It will be our Liahona and show us where we should go and what we should do.
The prophet has said that, " we will not be able to survive in the coming days without the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost."
I hope yall will continue to do the things that will allow the spirit to guide your lives, and in turn you will receive the necessary guidance to make it through whatever stands in your path.
I love yall have a great week! Happy 4th of July! πΊπ²
