Cooling down a bit

It's been another great week here in Jacksonville! The weather has finally cooled down a little bit, we've had a blast riding the bikes around

Taye is on date to be baptized this next weekend on the 28th! We are super excited for him.

We found a new person to teach this week, Mike. He is a friend of a lady in the ward and he's pretty excited to learn about the church. He came to church this Sunday and he really enjoyed it.

We had the opportunity to go to the temple open house this Saturday. It was awesome. We rented a 15 passenger van and we rode up there with our ward mission leader, Brother Samuelu. We had one of our investigators there and she really enjoyed it.

Brother Samuelu gave us a chess board so we've been playing some chess, it's been a good time. He also gave us like 100 lbs of meat, I dont know how we're going to eat it all!

The ward council tried to tear me and Elder Palmer to pieces on Sunday! They were upset because we told them that Taye was going to be baptized and it would ruin their Saturday because we didn't have a specific time. Imagine that.... the bishopric is upset that someone is going to be baptized, and they dont have time for it. I sort of rebuked them and they all got really quiet and wouldn't look at us anymore. Brother Samuelu had to calm us down a little bit and gave us a pep talk. He said we will do the work whether they want to help or not. A lot of the ward council ended up coming up to us after and apologizing.

I guess the Lord is trying to teach me temperance, because these people have really been trying my patience.

Alma Chapter 7 says....

23 And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive

These are characteristics of the Savior.

None of us are perfect, we all come short. All we can do is be patient with one another and do our best to lift eachother up. My invitation to everyone is to follow the teachings of the Savior and forgive. When we don't forgive we are hurting ourselves, allowing the devil to have power over us, and breaking the commandments of the Lord.

Think of someone you can forgive and turn it over to the Lord.

Love you guys
