Another week has come and gone here in Jacksonville! Last Monday night I got the call that I was going to be a trainer. On Tuesday, we made the long trek up to Raleigh, and I said bye to Elder Smith.
My new companion is Elder Palmer and you wouldn't believe where he's from. Straight out of Blanding Utah! Man this week has been so much fun. Elder Palmer is a fun dude and he's ready to work. The poor guy was drinking out of a cup with mold all week and didn't notice until he looked down and saw a bunch of floaties, pretty nasty.
We had a lot of crazy things happen this week while we were out working. Lots of crazy people talking to us. We got chased by 3 massive dogs which always makes for a good time. One day we were leaving the apartment and my chain snapped on my bike. Well us being broke missionaries we didn't have money for a new chain, and we have no tools. Well within 5 minutes Elder Palmer had that thing working better then ever with nothing to use for tools other than two 30 pound dumbells. Elder Palmer also got a flat tire and we had to walk 2 hours back to the apartment in the dark.
The work this week has been great! We found 2 new people to teach Sebrina and a guy named Shawn! Super awesome people.
The greatest thing that happened this week was the baptism of Carolyn and Sa'Layzia! I had the opportunity to baptize them. It was an experience I will never forget, and I'm so glad that they made the decision to follow Jesus Christ and be baptized.
Thus email is going to be pretty short. We just got an email from President Holland telling us to pack our suitcases. We have to leave because there's a flipping hurricane coming! Pretty big bummer we were supposed to go to a barbecue tonight, but ah well!
6 Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.
7 And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls
By small and simple means great things can be brought to pass!
Love you guys
