It's been another great week out here in Jville!
We had the Baptism of John Michael Ursery. Brother Samuelu was the one that baptized him. Well....when Brother Sam baptized him he body slammed him into the water so hard that water flew out of the font! It was hilarious, and Brother Ursery plugged his nose by sticking 1 finger up each nostril hahah. Then it turns out Brother Sam said his name wrong and he had to body slam him a second time! Brother Ursery was so excited to be baptized, it was awesome!
Me and Elder Palmer both spoke at his baptism.
Another highlight of the week was with a guy named Johny. We were teaching him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we were talking about the Holy Ghost. He told us he had prayed about the Book of Mormon and felt nothing. Well we starting bearing our testimonies, and in the middle of my testimony he stopped me and said, "is it hot in here?" Me and Elder Palmer both said no. He said, " that's weird, my arms just got really hot all of a sudden." We testified that he was feeling the Holy Ghost. He was pretty taken aback, hopefully we can help him to continue to recognize those feelings.
Another crazy story happened yesterday. Yesterday morning Elder Palmer was reading in the area Book about a recent convert that has epilepsy. He doesn't know why he read it, or what it meant. Well later in the day we were tracting in a neighborhood and there was super bad car accident. A frazzled man came up to us and told us about how he saw the crash and he was all shaken up. Next thing you know his wife walked over who has Epilepsy and she started having a seizure. It was the same recent convert Elder Palmer had been reading about that morning. We were able to carry her to her home and give her a priesthood blessing.
It's amazing to see how this is the Lords work. What's even more amazing is the fact that the Lord can use 2 knuckleheads like me and Elder Palmer to be instruments in doing his work here in Jacksonville North Carolina. I love this work and I love being a missionary. There is nothing better than sharing a message of pure Joy every single day.
I hope yall had a great week!
Love
