Merry Christmas! It has been another great week here in Jacksonville.
We were able to put Johnny on date to be baptized on January 4th. It took an hour and a half and a lot of silence but we eventually made it there. After an hour we invited him to say a prayer and ask God If he should be baptized. As he prayed the spirit filled the room, and he accepted the invitation. It was awesome to see how his doubts and fears were overcome by the Holy Ghost and the approval of God.
The rest the week was pretty cool too. We cleaned out a crazy ladies tipped over shed. It was fun to tear that thing apart. I was pulling an old nasty dresser out and the side fell off.... inside the top drawer was the fattest possum staring right at me! It was pretty funny we got him out of there.
We started teaching a lady named Alexis this week. She said that she has been wondering and praying what she should do.... and then we showed up. I know that God loves all of us and he truly hears and answers our prayers as we turn to him in humility, seeking the truth.
As a district we went out Christmas Caroling last night to spread some Christmas cheer. Good times.
Isaiah 9:6
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace
I know that I'm grateful for this Christmas season to be able to celebrate and focus on Jesus Christ. I'm grateful for his life, example, and atonement. I am grateful for the impact his life has had on mine and the peace the savior has brought to me. I know that he lives, and because of him we will all live!
Merry Christmas,
Love
Elder Forrest
