It's been another great week out here in Raleigh.
The man we've been teaching, Joseph Smith, is getting baptized on the 25th of this month!! He came to church yesterday and the Elders quorum president asked if there was any visitors. Joseph Smith raised his hand and said, " my name Joseph Smith" everyone started laughing. He told a pretty funny story in priesthood, he's going to make a great member.
I went on an exchange with Elder Smith this week, one of my old comps. We had a pretty good time. That was the first time I've rode a bike in a month and there are some fat hills In Raleigh! It was a good time. We had dinner with a member and she made homemade queso cheese and it was soooooo bomb
We led a zone council on tuesday which was pretty fun and then we have zone conference tomorrow, should be good. We are doing some role plays in front of everyone so hopefully we dont mess it up.
We've been doing lots of service this week as usual. We built some houses on Saturday again which was super fun. They had us doing siding. Raleigh is definently the place to be theres good work going on here, and the best basketball in the mission. What more could you ask for
I was reading in 1 Nephi this week and in chapter 3 I always love vs 7
7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.
I know this principle to be true. The Lord always provides a way for us to keep his commandments. It may not be easy, we will almost definitely face trials maybe even by those closest to us. Nephi was persecuted and beaten by his own brothers. But the Lord promises blessings to those who push through the persecution, and keep his commandments.
I know I'm grateful for the Book of Mormon. There was a day this week where we were so busy we had to skip our studies and I noticed a difference. There is truly power in reading from the Book of Mormon every day.
Love yall
Elder Forrest
