The Lord really blesses

It's been a good one here in Raleigh! The Lord really blessed us this week with 8 new people to teach!!!

One of them, Ignatius, we had talked to last week when he was getting out of his car. Well, we went back on Saturday and when we taught the Restoration he said that he thinks it could be true. He told us that he had been praying everyday since 2016 for the Lord to lead him to the true church and he hasnt found it yet. He thinks this could be it. We had a member there and it turns out they are from the same place and they had mad respect for eachother. After we left he read a TON of the Book of Mormon and he came to church yesterday. Probably the most elect guy I've ever met, we are going to teach him again tonight!

We also found a part member family and they all came to church as well! The 2 kids Charles and Jayda are awesome, they have not been baptized. We had a lesson about baptism and the importance and they said they want to be baptized. We just have to get back over there and teach them again.

We went on exchange with the Assistants this week which was a pretty good time. I went up to Wake Forest with Elder Douglas. We had a pretty awesome experience. We were out talking with people all day and everyone was rejecting us. We had testified to 25 people and probably talked to double that and nobody was having it. It was 8:30 at night and we were getting ready to head home. We knocked one last door and Nelli opened the door. Before she even asked who we were she told us to come inside. We were able to teach her and set up another time to go back! The Lord Provides.

We went to Chilis on Valentines day with Michael Massey, that was a good time.

Also, Someone in our ward told me that Eggs dont expire so I ignored the expiration date and ate a bunch of eggs..... just incase anyone was wondering eggs definently do expire, the date is there for a reason!

This week has been pretty good, me and Elder Fonnesbeck are having a dang good time here in Raleigh, we should have great things happening in the weeks to come!

2 Nephi chapter 6 says

13 Wherefore, they that fight against Zion and the covenant people of the Lord shall lick up the dust of their feet; and the people of the Lord shall not be ashamed. For the people of the Lord are they who wait for him; for they still wait for the coming of the Messiah.

Those who follow Christ even when it might seem hard or inconvenient, will not be ashamed in the end. True joy comes from following the Savior and there are blessings promised if we will endure to the end.

On the contrary 1 Nephi 7 says

11 Behold all ye that kindle fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks, walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks which ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand—ye shall lie down in sorrow

When we "walk in the light of our own fire and in the sparks we have kindled" we are doing whatever things we feel like doing and not the things that God wants us to do. We are giving in to temptations of the adversary to be idle and to break the commandments. When we do that we are promised in this verse, "we will lie down in sorrow."

I know the only way to find joy is through following Jesus Christ. He is the life and the light of the world. He is the ONLY way back to the father. The prophet has warned us that time is running out, don't wait to follow Christ. Start today and everyday!
