It's been about a month of being quarantined, crazy! Believe it or not it has actually gone by faster than I expected. Some crazy stuff happened this week in Raleigh NC.....
President Holland unveiled the new Facebook page Idea for the mission. Each zone has it's own Facebook page and we invite every member in Raleigh and there nonmember friends to the page. Then, we have devotionals and posts and start teaching people that way. The missionary department will start boosting out posts and paying for advertising and stuff, pretty cool. We had an Easter devotional and it went pretty good.
Last night at 8 we were sitting on the couch, and someone threw something through our window and just shattered the entire thing. We ran outside to try to catch them but they were already running away. We called 911 so they could come and investigate but they weren't able to catch them. That is the second time someone has broke our window.... you got to love the hood
This week I was reading in 2 Nephi 31. That chapter teaches us very simply the Doctrine of Christ. It teaches about Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End.
Vs 20 says
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.
When we follow this Doctrine and "Endure to the End" we are promised eternal life.
D&C 14:7 says..... 7 And, if you keep my commandments and endure to the end you shall have eternal life, which gift is the greatest of all the gifts of God.
Being able to return to live with God is the greatest of all gifts of God. It is only made possible through following Christ and the doctrine he has taught us.
I went on to read D&C 15 + 16 where the Lord tells John + Peter Whitmer,
" And now, behold, I say unto you, that the thing which will be of the most worth unto you will be to declare repentance unto this people, that you may bring souls unto me, that you may rest with them in the kingdom of my Father. Amen"
Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others would be of the most worth to them because they would be bringing others into the path that leads to Eternal life. Imagine how much joy it must bring the Lord when we help someone else recieve the greatest of all gifts, Eternal life
The Lord promises us great blessings when we help others find their way onto this path that has been paved by our Savior Jesus Christ (1Nephi13:37). This is helping fulfill his purpose to "Bring to pass the Immortality and Eternal Life of man" (Moses 1:39).
I am grateful to have the blessing of the Gospel in my life. It has brought me so much joy and so much peace. My joy has grown as I have been able to help share the Gospel with others, and see the light of Jesus Christ come into their lives and fill them with joy as well.
