Another good week out here in Raleigh, we had a curfew of 7pm everyday because of protests and stuff so that was kinda weird.
We did quite a bit of service this week! We put together a huge camp trailer that Brother Bartholomew welded a few years back, he also had this huge rope I climbed. It reminded me of when me and stewart used to go to the climbing gym and climb the rope there!
We also mowed Sister Herrrings yard which is HUGE! It took us a few hours to get it done but she was so grateful
We are at Raleigh Orthopedic this morning, Elder Keller has a follow up appointment for his ankle he messed up last month. So hopefully they can figure out what is wrong with it so we can start playing some basketball or something!
The work has been super good this week! We found another 4 people to teach this week and we have had some great lessons. We are also going to reach out to some part member families this week so that should be good.
One of the ladies we met this week, Anastatia, was super excited to hear about the Restoration and she wants to read! She wanted to meet in person so we are going to meet her at the church building tonight for a lesson!
I have been inspired as I have read about Alma this past week in the Book of Mormon. It is amazing to see how the Gospel changed him from one of the vilest of sinners to one of the greatest instruments in the hands of the Lord. I love his character. He sees a problem and he doesn't wait to be told what to do, he just goes to work!
He sees that the people have started to become wicked and have stopped keeping the commandments.
"...he delivered the judgment-seat unto Nephihah.
19 And this he did that he himself might go forth among his people, or among the people of Nephi, that he might preach the word of God unto them, to stir them up in remembrance of their duty, and that he might pull down, by the word of God, all the pride and craftiness and all the contentions which were among his people, seeing no way that he might reclaim them save it were in bearing down in pure testimony against them."
He gives up the judgement seat and goes out and starts to teach the people the gospel. That is what mattered most to God, and therefore the most to him! I know I am grateful for the scriptures, they are meant for our day and we can learn a lot from them!
Love yall
Elder Forrest
These are pics that brother Clements took. There are about 96
of them but these were a few of my favorites.
