See Ya Later

It has been another good week here in Raleigh! Yesterday we said "see ya later" to the Hollands, they would not allow anyone to say goodbye! 😂

I was able to baptize our friend Maria on Saturday! She was so excited to be baptized and it was a great experience , the spirit was very strong there! Elder Keller did Maria confirmation. It turns out this whole time we have been calling her Mariah but her name is actually Maria and she never told us!

We did some service for a lady this week, we picked up about 1,000,000 pine cones, she was very grateful and it was nice to get out and do some work!

We were actually supposed to be riding bikes this week, but since we had a baptism on Saturday the mission let us borrow a spare car for half the week, it is about to be retired and it sounds like it's going to explode going down the highway, but it got the job done! We also found some pretty fun bike trails right by our apartment that some guys built out in the woods!

We also had our first lesson in a members home yesterday since the quarantine had started! First time teaching someone in person in over 100 days, it was pretty cool!

This week in the come follow me reading it goes over some of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon! In Alma 17 the sons of Mosiah are preparing for their missions. I love in verse 16....

16 Therefore, this was the cause for which the sons of Mosiah had undertaken the work, that perhaps they might bring them unto repentance; that perhaps they might bring them to know of the plan of redemption

Their mission was never about them. It was about serving God and serving their brothers and sisters.

Throughout their missions they faced many trials, many of which would cause a normal person a great deal of fear. But we learn in Moroni chapter 8 that "perfect love casteth out all fear"

These men loved the people and they did not fear for their lives but rather for the salvation of those they served.

I believe that Charity is one of the attributes that made these sons of Mosiah powerful missionaries and made them instruments in the hands of the Lord in baptizing THOUSANDS! Maybe if we all had this same level of charity of these men and the same desire to share the message with our brothers and sisters we too could baptize thousands.

Hope yall have a great week

Love

Elder Forrest
