Another good week down here in Hope Mills North Carolina!
The work has been going great this week, we found 6 new people to teach so we have been staying pretty busy!
This new area has been a lot of fun, basically everyone here is in the military. We are allowed to eat with members outside here in this zone so we have been grilling with members every night!
A guy from the ward, Brother Brock, has a garage full of weights and he props the door open for us every morning so we can go over there and lift so that has been really fun.
My new companion, Elder Marshall, is literally insane. I think we laugh a little to much but we are having fun and getting some good work done. We had some Elders come up from the coast to stay with us because there was a hurricane this week and I think after being with us for 24 hours they were ready to go
Here in the Fayetteville zone we might be able to go back to church in the next couple weeks it sounds like, so that would be pretty cool. It would definitely make it a lot easier to get to know the ward!
This week as I read in the Book of Mormon Alma 47:36 stood out to me....
36 Now these dissenters, having the same instruction and the same information of the Nephites, yea, having been instructed in the same knowledge of the Lord......
All these people were given the same knowledge they were taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But they all had completely different outcomes in their lives because of the way they used their agency.
We learn in the next chapter that Moroni was a righteous man, and if every man was like him the powers of hell would be shaken. He cared for his people and was a great leader.
Then on the other hand there is Amalickiah, who was wicked and didn't care about anyone except himself. All he wanted was worldly pleasure and status.
These 2 men were taught in the same principles, but ultimately chose different paths. We have to choose which path we will follow, but only one will lead to true lasting happiness and fulfillment.
2Nephi2:27
27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
Love yall
Elder Forrest
