Another good week out here in the warzone we took a couple hits but the work goes on....
Durrontaes baptism got moved to tonight, and then this morning he texted us and said he doesn't want to talk to us anymore and he doesn't want to be baptized. Pretty sure his family fed him a bunch of anti and now he's scared so that's a bummer
The other day we were getting ready and I had a weird thought come to my head, I said to Elder Gardner, "What if someone just called us today and said they wanted to get baptized?" I was mostly joking but I kid you not 2 hours later a lady named Dawn calls and said she want to meet with us in a couple hours, come to church, and get baptized. So we are working with her now!
I also fixed the Evans families dirt bike the other night! It wasn't running so I told him to get some carb cleaner and I pulled off the carb and had it going in 20 mins... it was fun to turn some wrenches for a few minutes
We also cleaned all the pine straw off the Robert's roof. They are an older couple and they are the funniest people I have ever met. He has a big bruise on his arm where his wife punches him all the time. They took us out to lunch and we literally didn't stop laughing the entire time
Elder Gardner and I also spoke in church yesterday. We talked about finding peace in troubled times. That was the first time I have spoken in a sacrament meeting my entire mission which is honestly surprising I made it this far without speaking
Our new mission President got here this week and he seems like a pretty nice guy, we have zone conference tomorrow so I will meet him in person then.
I know sometimes life is hard and unforeseen challenges come our way, maybe it even feels like we are trapped in a "vapor of darkness" (3Nephi8:20)
The Savior with his arms of Mercy extended teaches us that he is "the light and the life of the world." (3 Nephi9:18)
There is no vapor of darkness thick enough to stop the light of our Savior Jesus Christ from reaching us as we reach out to him.
Love yall
Elder Forrest
