It's been another great week out here in North Carolina! We had a bunch of meetings this week and it kinda just flew by....
This week I went on exchange with the Elders in a little town called Dunn, I forgot to give Elder Gardner the car keys and the Malibu's we have will keep running without the key so they drove all the way home to Hope Mills and we drove all the way to Dunn and then we realized that they didnt have the keys....it was worth it tho because we met back up in a small town called Wade and went to lunch at Waffle House
On the exchange we had a pretty cool experience. We put this special forces guy on date for baptism on November 4th, this Wednesday!!! His name is Tim, it was a 3 hour lesson but the dude is totally ready and he's going to make it happen! He asked me to do his Confirmation so we are going to go back up there on Wednesday! He also showed us how to win a street fight in one punch everytime.... could come in handy out here in Fayetteville 😂
We had MLC in Raleigh and we also had Zone Conference with President Maurer, I had to conduct the meeting and Me and Elder Gardner gave a training.
We helped a couple families move this week so that was cool. The truck wasn't big enough tho so we were shoving everything in there
We made some great progress with Annie this week, she is praying about Baptism. We have only been teaching her a couple weeks but we literally have already taught her everything she needs to know for baptism and she is elect! She knows it's all true and is willing to live all the commandments. She just has a few concerns we have to help her overcome and she will be ready
This week while studying in the come follow me I was studying the difference between Godly sorrow and worldly sorrow. I found this scripture in 1 Corinthians 7
10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death
Godly sorrow, or, sorrow FOR sin is good. It leads us to repent and become better, and ultimately leads to conversion. The sorrow of the world, or, sorrow because you can't sin without consequence is bad! As Paul explains it leads to a spiritual death. A separation from God or... Hell. If we want joy we must learn to align our will and desires with that of Gods.
I know I am grateful for Jesus Christ who has shown us the perfect example and has given us the path to walk that leads to all happiness, and all joy. The path that leads back to our Heavenly Father.
Love y'all
Elder Forrest
