Another great week out here in Wilmington NC! Me and Elder Ward saw a lot of success this week. We have been trying to stretch ourselves and this week we found 10 new people to teach
We have been making great progress with Adelso and hopefully we can get him baptized in the next week! We also have Iantha on date for baptism and she is so solid
We taught her about the Word of Wisdom the other day and she said, "wait.... I'm confused, my Doctor says Green Tea is good for me and your telling me it's bad for me" we explained we dont know exactly the reasoning of the revelation but we know that it came from God and put it all back on the Book of Mormon. She has an awesome testimony of the Book of Mormon, she said, "Well.... I guess my Doctor hasnt read the Book of Mormon" , ELECT!
The other day we went out to visit some dude, Jerry. He lives in a trailer in the middle of nowhere. Well we pull up and its pitch black outside and it looks like noone is home. We hop outta the van and some dog comes up and starts chasing us around, and then the cat comes and starts chasing us around too. If it wasnt already bizarre enough we knocked on the door like 5 times and finally Jerry comes out butt naked, he sees us and freaks out. So he turns around and gets a 2 foot long screwdriver and came out like he was going to shank us. We didn't end up teaching him though because he forgot we were coming
I like this scripture in 1 Corinthians 14
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace...
God does not want us to be confused. In todays world there is a lot of confusion. As we learn in James 1, the Lord Gives liberally to those that ask him. There are many answers to our questions and direction the Lord is willing to give us but it is conditional on us asking.
2 Nephi 32 says
4 Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words, if ye cannot understand them it will be because ye ask not, neither do ye knock; wherefore, ye are not brought into the light, but must perish in the dark
We cannot recieve an answer if we never ask the question. We will perish in the dark if we dont walk towards the light. I an grateful for the love of God and for his willingness to lead us in a world of confusion
Love yall
Elder Forrest
